couldn't get it to work

Reviewed by Ronald Boutte, 2010-01-11

I have presta valves on my Trek 7.5 FX and in constant fear of over inflating the tubes. I hoped this gauge would relieve my anxiety. Well, it didn't. After numerous attempts I managed to get ONE reading on the front tire. My attempts to use it on the rear tire proved equally frustrating and ultimately unsuccessful. It may have been defective or a design fault. I returned it and will look for another gauge.

An accurate, easy to use, durable pressure gauge

This gauge is sturdy and seems to be accurate. My only gripe is that the mark on the gauge for 100 p.s.i. (which I use most often) is difficult to read due to placement of a "rivet". Otherwise it's terrific.

Durable, accurate, reliable

This is a great, sturdy little gauge for bicycle tires. I carry it in my under-seat pouch. The dial is much smaller than I expected, larger than a quarter, smaller than a half-dollar, and I say that as a positive thing! I understand there are rubber protective rings you can buy to go over the dial, but I have not been able to find one yet. Fortunately, the gauge seems sturdy enough that I haven't worried about it, though I'm careful not to drop it.

This is a fine addition to any cyclist's road pouch.

This seems built to last

This gauge works great. I have had it only for a few weeks but it has a solid hefty feel like it will be the last bicycle tire gauge that I will ever have to buy unless I drop it from more than a few feet and even then it might still be ok (I'm not going to try this). It is easy to read the numbers. The push button bleeder valve is nice. The package does not say where it was made but it appears to be a decent quality item.

Arrived defective

My presta gauge arrived defective - it did not hold the pressure reading (when it managed to actually take a reading). These were supposed to be really good gauges at one time and they should be given their expense; I think they are now made in China. I would have to rate this product 'avoid' and I am returning the one I received.
